Julia Skidmore, D.D.S. 
Dr. Julia Skidmore was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas, and attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry, where she received honors from the Prosthodontics department and national recognition for public health. Her thirst for knowledge continued after graduation, and she went on to become a certified Invisalign provider and a Lumineers provider. She has also been recognized by Consumer Report’s Top Dentists in America Award, received Cambridge’s Who’s Who Recognition, and most recently was named one of Fifteen Most Influential Women in the greater Joplin area by the Joplin Tri-State Business Journal. Dr. Julia Skidmore and the entire team at Dr. Julia Skidmore are proud to offer professional, high quality dental care, and state-of-the-art technology in a relaxing atmosphere, and together, they work to make the dental experience enjoyable for everyone. Dr. Skidmore received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, where she received departmental and university honors in Genetics. During her college years, she studied abroad for over a year in Newcastle, Australia, where she performed biochemical research. Because of her strong will to help others she served as the philanthropy chairman for the Kappa Delta Sorority and was recognized by societies such as the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Skidmore recently relocated back to the Overland Park and Lenexa, KS area after her family and business were impacted by the Joplin tornado in late May of 2011. Dr. Skidmore joined the practice in January 0f 2012.
Dennis D. Gemar, D.D.S.
Dr. Dennis Gemar has been practicing dentistry for over 26 years in Lenexa, Kansas, and enjoys all phases of general family and cosmetic dentistry. 
Dr. Gemar receives many referrals from his existing patients because of his gentle techniques and great chairside manner. Referrals are his greatest compliment. The patients trust in Dr. Gemar and refer their family and friends to him for his excellent care and service. Dr. Gemar gains great personal satisfaction from knowing his patients well and providing them what they need to enjoy their best oral health. Our primary goal is to provide our patients with the best service in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Dr. Gemar is a graduate from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. He is a member of the Fifth District Dental Society, Kansas Dental Society and American Dental Association. In his spare time he enjoys his family, traveling, golfing and is an avid supporter of Husker football. Dr. Gemar and his wife Marlys have three children.
Dr. Gemar Restores beautifully what Nature Intended. Dr. Dennis Gemar has retired as of January 2012 and Dr. Julia Skidmore is taking over his practice.
Linda Winn
As Office manager, Linda brings all the loose ends together at Skidmore Dentistry. From scheduling appointments to greeting patients and handling insurance questions, Linda can also talk football if you’re so inclined. With five years at the practice and almost thirteen years of total experience, Linda is one of the first smiling faces you will see when arriving at Skidmore Dentistry and the last as you leave.
A Tulsa native and obvious Sooner fan, scrap booking and family take up Linda’s free time. While she counts the Phillipines and Korea as some of the farthest places she has ventured from home it is home with her friends and family that she prefers.
Eva Fowler
Eva has been with Skidmore Dentistry for over eighteen years and is one of the longest tenured employees at the practice. With almost 27 years in the dental profession, she is also one of the most experienced dental assistants in the area.
No wall flower for sure, Eva loves riding motor cycles, has para-sailed and credits having a great marriage as one of her favorite accomplishments. A mother of two and an inspiration to friends and co-workers alike, Eva makes a visit to Gemar Dental the kind of experience that has kept patients coming back for years.
Lisa Simonson
Lisa is also one of the faces you will encounter as you enter out practice and as with all the staff at Skidmore Dentistry, she will greet you with a smile. Lisa is our bookkeeper and administrative assistant, she loves to travel and has been as far a way as Belize. She is also a scrap-booker and enjoys researching Genealogy.
A married mother of two grown girls, Lisa’s attention to detail keeps all our paperwork, and yours in good order, tracking insurance inquiries and making sure that your total experience at Skidmore Dentistry is pleasant down to the last detail.

Gena Cunningham – Registered Dental Hygienist
Gena has been a dental hygienist for 8 years and with Dr. Skidmore’s practice for the last five. Gena’s Mom, a Dental Assistant herself encouraged her to follow in her footsteps and take up a career in the Dental field. So after earning an Associate of Science degree, Gina followed up with a degree in Applied Dental Hygiene from Johnson County College.
An Overland Park, KS resident, Gena actually grew up on a dairy farm and has traveled all over the United States. She cares deeply about her patients and really tries to get to know them. In her dental career, Gena has scaled and cleaned almost 373,000 teeth! What that means is, if you are looking for an experienced hygienist that cares, Gena is your girl.
